About

No two childhood cancer stories are the same. Whether it’s cancer type, age of diagnosis or years of treatment, each tale is unique. That’s the purpose of the Childhood Cancer Stories site, to present the distinct perspective of children fighting cancer for everyone to read. The goal is to inspire, enlighten, inform and most of all, provide a platform to promote awareness for this disease.

Every day, over 1,000 new children are diagnosed with childhood cancer worldwide. That’s 1,000+ new stories every day of children fighting a disease no parent expects their kid to face. Despite this, childhood cancer research remains consistently underfunded and receives only 4% of the National Cancer Institute’s annual budget. Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation started with the goal of empowering everyone to help cure childhood cancer. The hope is that one day each of those kids can be disease-free without facing the many complications that often come with childhood cancer treatment.

There is still plenty of work needed to reach that point though. Hopefully, these kids’ passionate stories inspire people to join in that fight.
